How often do I need to change home filters?
Why do I need to change them?
Many plumbing and heating systems utilize a filter to catch debris so that air and/or water can flow through the system properly. Be it a heater unit, an A/C unit, or a pool filtering system, keeping filters clean and changing them routinely not only lengthens the life of the system, but it saves you money! With regular use, filters get clogged, and when they’re clogged, your system works as if there were no filtering system in the first place: it cannot function properly, and if the problem isn’t fixed in time, it can cause severe damage.
While different systems have different maintenance requirements, in general, we recommend changing air filters on your HVAC system monthly. Disposable water filters can be changed monthly, or in some cases (depending on your water quality) every three months.
