Leaking Toilet? Running Toilet? Clogged Toilet?

Edwards & Mills, Inc., fixes all types of toilet problems.

The average person flushes the toilet five times each day: It's one of the most-used items in your home or workplace. If your toilet is not a high-efficiency toilet, your flushing accounts for 31% of your household's total water consumption. Toilets use a lot of water, and such frequent use makes them a common source of problems.

From leaking at the base of the toilet to "running" water sounds when not in use—and clogs the night before your Thanksgiving guests are all due to arrive—Edwards & Mills, Inc., will help you solve your toilet problems quickly.

  • We offer rapid service, seven days a week.
  • Monday through Friday, we will complete any residential toilet repairs or replacements needed the same day if you call in your problem by 1:30 P.M.
  • Our emergency pager for after-hours and weekend toilet emergencies is (336) 913-0501.
Do you have water leaking from your toilet?
If you're seeing water leaking out of the bottom of the tank or at floor level, give the professionals at Edwards & Mills, Inc., a call. We'll explore the situation and diagnose what's wrong—a supply line could be loose, tank bolts may have corroded, the wax ring sealing the toilet to the waste pipe could be broken, or some other problem may be causing your leak. Most problems can be fixed quickly and easily; if you have a more serious concern and toilet replacement is a better option, we can help you make a smart decision about that investment.

Can you hear your toilet running periodically?
One of the most common toilet problems is a "running" toilet. You'll hear the water supply to the tank going on for a bit and then off approximately every 20-30 minutes, and sometimes you'll hear gurgling, too. Not only is this annoying, but it's wasting a significant amount of water each day.

Frequently, we discover there's a problem with the flapper or tank ball that seals the valve at the bottom of the tank. It may be broken, misaligned, or covered in mineral deposits; and because it doesn't fit tightly, water is slowly leaking out of the tank into the outgoing water pipe. The sound you hear is the tank automatically re-filling itself when its sensor detects the water level getting low.

Is your toilet stopped up?
If your toilet seems to be flushing very slowly or inefficiently, getting stopped up frequently, or overflowing, you likely have a clog somewhere in the toilet itself or in the plumbing leading away from the toilet. While using too much toilet paper is a common reason for many clogs, children's toys and other items like sponges being flushed cause many, many more toilet problems!

Most people know the basics of how to attempt to remove a clog: turn off the water to the water tank so the toilet cannot overflow (or overflow more!), then use a plunger to try to push and pull water through the blocked drain. If this approach doesn't work, or you're frequently having the same concern, it's time to call in the experts of Edwards & Mills, Inc.
